Support  The Mothers Against Meth  Alliance (M.A.M.A)

AS THEY FIGHT THE BLACK SNAKE, METH, & ALCOHOL, AND RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT "MAN CAMPS" AND MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN.

What is M.A.M.A

In response to the terrifying rise of meth abuse in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation on Oglala Lakota territory as well as across all of India Country, Julz Rich - with other warriors and members of her community - founded the grassroots and non-institutionally backed organization M.A.M.A. Through M.A.M.A, Julz and her crew facilitate:
  • 2-3 presentations a week on average focusing on awareness of the dangers of meth as well as harm reduction in a culturally sensitive and safe way.
  • Meth awareness and education programs inside jails for currently incarcerated peoples.
  • Rides to and from school for children with meth addicted parents
  • Nighttime patrols which allow transport of youth and other Lakota to safer locations
  • Immediate needs for Lakota - especially children - in danger including food, housing, advocacy, and connection to resources
  • Rallies and marches on the Pine Ridge and other reservations in the area
  • Candlelight vigils and spaces for grieving and healing in response to violence against Lakota

M.A.M.A. at the Dakota Access Pipeline Resistance

Picture
Julz and members of her M.A.M.A crew including warriors and security arrived at
Standing Rock back in August when most people oustide of Indian Country had no idea where Standing Rock was or what the Dakota Access Pipeline even was.

AUGUST 2016
Julz initially set up the space where the Red Warrior Camp currently exists.
Her crew immediately set up a sweat lodge and began prayers and ceremonies; they began coordinating receiving supplies through supporters across Turtle Island. Julz was invited by the Sacred Stone Camp to hold trainings for meth awareness. Her and crew, work closely with the Standing Rock Healer & Medic Council.

SEPTEMBER 2016
Julz becomes the first akicita win (Woman Warrior) to user her body to
directly intervene on construction of the Dakota Access pipeline by locking
herself to heavy machinery destroying sacred lands and threatening water.

NOVEMBER 2016
